Not so Handmade Monday

Well this week has been very eventful but not very crafty
My daughter was in A and E for an afternoon, a whole day and a morning so time wasnt on my side
She is fine a swollen knee from a symptom of psoriosis we believe but an appointment from a specialist is on its way and she is on crutches and anti-imflammatories untill that time.
Here are a couple of pictures from an Easter Eggstravaganza I attended on saturday

As it was Bank holiday we also managed to put up a new shed and to sort out our rabbit and guinea-pig hutches they are now all neat and tidy and being thoroughly enjoyed

Exhibition Day

This week has been fantastic. For a couple of days I was getting my paintings ready for the exhibition at Bursleden Brickworks heres a few photos

These are my pictures before mounting just after varnishing
Luckily they were left for a few days to dry while I went off to Kent to see the First Best Friend I ever made
Now Jayne (Jaynes Blog) is amazinng I arrived to freshly made rolls and baked ham with handmade pickle it was fantastic
In the evening we had a delicious dinner and a catch up with two more old school friends
The next morning I rose to the smell of freshly baked bread brilliant eh?
We had a shopping day in Bluewater were we indulged in a few craft shops and great food and milkshakes
As a thankyou I gave her one of my Paintings
She loved it I was so pleased
On the last morning she made this fantastic cinnamon bun loaf it was very like chelsea buns totally delicious
and we then drove over to see her mum and dad two of my favourite people I always remember being young and thinking they were amazing I remember them dancing around their frontroom when I was about 11 years old and they have just never changed
After another hearty lunch in the Harvester I drove home always in my head that I really would love to move back to Kent xxxxxxxxx
Well back to the Exhibition Saturday was spent finishing off all the mounting ready for an early start on Sunday I had my kit all set up to ready to do some demos It was a very enjoyable day and I had lots of interest in this art I even got invited to do a talk and demo at a local craft group x

Handmade Monday 10

Cant believe its time again for Handmade Monday heres the link to Hand-made Monday 10 so pop over and read what everybody has been up to xx

This week has been a busy sewing week for me I've been using up some fabric making a few cushions and bags, again going for the  Geisha style

This one shows my name embroidered on, now that was a lot of fun haven't worked out how to save it on the machine yet though
Saturday was a great day I went to the Big Bead fair up in Esher with my very good friend Alison. It took us aprox an hour to get there even though we had a little detour due to the sat nav, but once in we enjoyed a great lunch of fish and chips with mushy peas, we felt like it was better to shop on a full tummy lol
Then we made our way around the stalls it was massive, we stopped at the Bead Magazine stall and Ali got a great offer 10 magazines for a fiver WOW my subscription for them had been £40, the lady tried to talk me into renewing but I already Subscribe to Sew and Making Jewellery and wanted a great offer and thought if they are selling them Off at the shows maybe I should wait, well you never know eh???
We walked around and found some lovely stall holders I picked up some semi-precious chips and some new tools some cutters and a split ring opener that was a great deal too 2 tools for a fiver, I also got some russian doll beads for my youngest and some lovely swarovski hearts. My friend picked up a lovely beaded thimble pattern for her mum in law too and lots of other bits and pieces but all in all a great day. To top the day off we went out for a lovely curry with some great friends.
Sunday was another great day Mothers Day and the girls got me some lovely pressies and some hand-made cards they were great lots of choccies too which my youngest wanted to eat all day, the highlight of the day though was a phonecall from Kayleigh from the Carribbean it was great to hear from her its been very quiet the last couple of weeks turns out her wireless on her laptop doesnt work thats why there have been fewer and fewer updates but she sails back to the Med in a week or so Yayyyyyyyy!!!!!!!
So an eventful week see you all soon xx
